The much-anticipated collaboration between Vetrimaaran and Silambarasan has finally received its official title. Titled Arasan, the film’s first look poster was unveiled by producer Kalaipuli S Thanu on social media, accompanied by the caption, “The King born to rule.” Until now, the project had been referred to by its working title, STR49. The poster features Silambarasan in silhouette, holding a machete while wearing a blood-soaked shirt. Its visual style is reminiscent of the promotional materials for Vada Chennai, particularly in its color palette and costume design. The typography also bears Vetrimaaran’s signature touch; the bold red letters, arranged in an ascending pattern, echo the design language. ஆளப்பிறந்த அரசன் வெற்றியுடன் சிலம்பரசன்#VetriMaaran @SilambarasanTR_#STR49 #SilambarasanTR #VCreations47 #ARASAN pic.twitter.com/zLk8chzGJl — Kalaippuli S Thanu (@theVcreations) October 7, 2025 Also Read | Dhruv Vikram says he considers Bison his first film: ‘It’s not a problem even if you haven’t seen my earlier films’ There has been speculation about whether Arasan is set in the same universe as Vada Chennai, the Dhanush-starrer also directed by Vetrimaaran.
