Shivarajkumar apologies to Siddharth for ill-treatment at Chithha event in Bengaluru
Pro-Kannada protesters forced Tamil actor Siddharth to leave a promotional event of his film Chithha held in Bengaluru.
Shivarajkumar in Jailer. Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar apologised to actor Siddharth, who was forced to leave a promotional event of his film Chithha by pro-Kannada protesters. A pro-Kannada outfit, which has been protesting over the Cauvery river water dispute, stopped the event midway and forced the actor to leave. The incident has led to severe backlash from Tamil Nadu, and now, Shivanna has apologised to Siddharth.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Shivarajkumar said, “On behalf of my industry, I would like to say we are very very sorry to Siddharth. I am hurt because of the incident, which will never happen again. Kannada people are good. They love all films and all languages. Only people of Karnataka watch all kinds of films.”
Many fans of Shivarajkumar have shared the video online and have praised the actor for his benevolence. “This is the way to handle such issues, #Shivanna being the leader made his statement clear. His intention is both the state farmers should be happy,” wrote one user.
Meanwhile, Siddharth is yet to open up about the incident.
Earlier, Shivarajkumar spoke about the Cauvery river issue, saying that both the states should come together and find a workable solution for the well-being of people. The Cauvery water sharing has been a sensitive issue that has been going on for decades between the two states. Due to the lack of rainfall and the scarcity of water in Karnataka, the issue has yet again surfaced.
On the work front, Shivarajkumar was last seen in Rajinikanth’s Jailer. He is currently working on films like Ghost, Karataka Damanaka, and Bhairathi Ranagal.
