Rajinikanth praises Team Amaran: ‘Sivakarthikeyan has lived the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan’

Rajinikanth praised Kamal Haasan and his banner Raaj Kamal Films International for backing such an important story, and revealed that he was emotional watching the tale of Major Mukund Varadarajan unfold onscreen.

In an increasingly competitive world where every word said or unsaid has an agenda, what Rajinikanth does is simply inspiring. The number of films, especially in recent times, that Rajinikanth has given a shout out to has been impressive. He is efficient in sharing his opinions, and ensures the movie receives more energy to run the long race. The latest such film to receive more than just a few words of praise from the Superstar is Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran. 

Rajinikanth met Sivakarthikeyan, director Rajkumar Periasamy, producer Mahendran and cinematographer CH Sai at his residence and shared his appreciation for the film, which is running to packed houses all over India. In a special video, released by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal FIlms International, the makers of Amaran, Rajinikanth is flanked by a happy Rajkumar and Sivakarthikeyan. The Vettaiyan actor congratulated them for their ‘superb’ work and spoke about how Sivakarthikeyan lived the character of Major Mukund Varadarajan.

“I must congratulate Kamal Haasan for backing such an important film,” said Rajinikanth, adding how he was emotional and in tears while watching the film, which not only documented the life of Major Mukund, but also the various difficulties faced by Indian soldiers. He also had lovely words to say about Sai Pallavi, who played the role of Indhu Rebecca Varghese in Amaran. 

Sharing the video, Sivakarthikeyan wrote a heartfelt note, which read, “I’m extremely happy with the appreciation from Superstar Rajinikanth sir for #Amaran. Sitting with him as he admired every nuance of the film was truly unforgettable for me and the team. Thank you Thalaiva for your constant support and encouragement!”

Amaran, which is based on Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh’s book India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military, is embellished by the extensive research of Rajkumar. Apart from Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, Amaran also stars Rahul Bose, Bhuvan Arora, Shreekumar, and Lallu.

With music by GV Prakash Kumar, Amaran has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the global box-office, and is one of the biggest successes in Sivakarthikeyan’s career.
