Raghava Lawrence is playing the lead role in the sequel of Rajinikanth's Chandramukhi. Lawrence met the Superstar to seek blessings ahead of the release of the second part.

Actor-filmmaker Raghava Lawrence is a self-proclaimed fan of Rajinikanth, and he hasn’t missed an opportunity to express his admiration for the superstar. Lawrence is playing the lead role in Chandramukhi 2, the sequel of Chandramukhi, which had Rajinikanth in the lead role. As the film is gearing up for release on September 28, Lawrence met Rajinikanth to seek his blessings for the success of his film.

Lawrence had already met Rajinikanth ahead of the film’s shoot, and now, he has met him for the second time.

Talking about being part of Chandramukhi 2 in a media interaction, Raghava Lawrence said, “To do a sequel to a Rajinikanth sir’s film, and that too with director P Vasu sir, is itself a great honour for me. I got the blessings of the superstar for doing the film.” He also said that the difficult part of doing Chandramukhi 2 was to make sure that he doesn’t have Rajinikanth’s influence on his performance. “As it is, I kind of have a Thalaivar influence. Now, when I have to put on the make-up of Vettaiyan, Thalaivar automatically shows up in the acting. However, Vasu sir was particular that I should do my version of the character. So, at times, he would tell me, ‘Thalaivar is showing up,’ and I have to do it again. But whenever I asked Vasu sir to enact the scene, he would also emulate Thalaivar and we would joke about it.”

Besides Raghava Lawrence, the film has Kangana Ranaut in the titular role. So far, all the iterations of the story featured a protagonist who was possessed by Chandramukhi. For the first time, Chandramukhi 2 will feature the real backstory of the titular character.

Chandramukhi 2 also stars Vadivelu, Lakshmi Menon, Radikaa Sarathkumar, and Mahima Nambiar. MM Keeravaani has composed the music for the film.
