Nithya Menen slams false report that claimed she was harassed by a Tamil hero: ‘Be better than this’

The false report was picked by many publications and the news went viral on social media. Nithya Menen quickly reacted to the report and expressed her shock at the false claim. Sharing the report on social media, she said that it is completely untrue. “It’s very sad that certain sections of journalism have come down to this. I urge you – Be Better than this!” the actor wrote in a post.

In another post, she wrote, “We are all here for such a short period of time. It always surprises me how much wrong we do to each other :) I point this out today because only accountability stops bad behaviour (sic).”

Nithya Menen had earlier said that she hasn’t faced sexual harassment during work. Commenting on the #MeToo Movement, the actor said, “I completely understand the thing that people are facing. I do everything possible to counter it. Just because I am not doing it one way, doesn’t mean that I am not countering those things or I am not against it. I am, but I have a different approach.”.

Nithya has also admitted that she has walked out of a film as someone in the project was accused of sexual misconduct. “I do it, but I do it silently. I have said ‘no’ to a film because of something like that.”
