After a police investigation regarding his rape comment about Trisha, actor Mansoor Ali Khan has issued an apology. “My co-star Trisha please forgive me. Hope the god blesses me with the opportunity to wish you when you enter the wedlock,” the statement read.

In the cryptic statement, shared on Instagram, Mansoor Ali Khan has called the media ‘the vultures waiting to devour the chicken’ and questioned them for not raising questions about issues regarding NEET, Hatharas, and Manipur. Even his apology to Trisha comes as an afterthought towards the end of the statement.

“I have won the bloodless war that was going on for the past week. Heartfelt thanks to all the leaders, actors, and media personnel who supported me. My salutes to all those who condemned me… Police officers said Trisha was hurt by what I said, ‘Aiyooo, I too felt bad,” I told them. The letter then digressed into issues that were irrelevant to his statement and its aftermath. Only towards the end of the statement, Mansoor Ali Khan apologized to Trisha for his statement.

Mansoor Ali Khan later organized a press meet and lashed out at the film body and gave an ultimatum to revoke the ban against him and demanded an apology from him. He also refused to apologise, claiming that his statement was misconstrued and edited so that he can be shown in a bad light.

The National Commission for Women urged the Director General of Police to take action against Khan, leading to charges under Section 354 A (sexual harassment) and Section 509 (outraging the modesty of a woman). Later, Tamil Nadu police investigated the actor, and he finally issued an apology for his statement.
