When Master, Vijay’s first collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj, was released, the film’s heroine Malavika Mohanan was trolled by fans for her exaggerated acting. Back then, Malavika took it in her stride and even shared a meme mocking her acting abilities. However, in a recent interaction on X (formerly Twitter), Malavika was put off by a troll who asked her to take acting lessons. The actor hit back at the troll and asked him to become relevant before making such statements.
The user wrote, “Akka epo acting class poga poreenga? (Sister, when are you going to take acting classes?)” Malavika shared the tweet with the comment, “I’ll go the day you become relevant in some form and then ask me the same question.”
Malavika Mohanan’s reaction has left X divided. While some claimed that there was nothing wrong with the question as Malavika has been underwhelming in her films, many came out in support of the actor claiming that the question was in bad taste and demeaning.
Another follower wrote, “When will you start acting instead of glamour shows?” Malavika hit back, “Never. Got a problem with that?” Another follower asked why she keeps doing glamorous photoshoots, which was met with, “Coz I like to. Simple :)”
The interaction session was not all bitter as Malavika also had fun answering questions about her upcoming film Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith. In a reply to a question, Malavika revealed that she has dubbed for her role in the film. She also revealed, “I always wanted to try out my hand at action, and with Thangalaan I got to do exactly that. I feel like it’s been a while since I explored a softer side and really want to do a nice love story-ish film soon.”
Other than Thangalaan, Malavika Mohanan has Prabhas’ The Raaj Saab and Hindi film Yudhra in her kitty.
