Singer and spiritual healer Kenishaa Francis has finally addressed the link-up rumours surrounding her and actor Jayam Ravi, which surfaced after he announced his split from wife, Aarti Ravi. In a recent interaction, Kenishaa shared that she first met Jayam at the launch of her song “Idhai Yaar Solvaaro” and had limited contact with him afterward. However, she revealed that Jayam reached out to her in June, seeking professional help as he was “mentally and emotionally bruised and battered” from his marriage.
“He came to me only after he sent a notice for divorce by mutual consent through his lawyer. He approached me because he didn’t want anyone in Chennai to know about this,” Kenishaa told DT Next.
Kenishaa Francis also accused Aarti and her family of “abusing” Jayam Ravi. She stated, “But, as a therapist, I can tell you that the pain Jayam Ravi’s family has put him through is bigger than the pain of losing his parents. As a therapist, it was beyond painful for me to hear about his struggles with Aarti and her parents. No one deserves so much abuse, irrespective of the gender, and I can release all the evidence, with or without Ravi’s permission in the court of law, from my notes of our therapy sessions.”
Kenishaa further claimed that Aarti was deliberately trying to “tarnish” Jayam’s image. She said, “Anything to do with his divorce has to be questioned with Ravi and their leading families. Just because Aarti is afraid of what she’s done to Ravi, she cannot use me as a scapegoat to cover up her doings. What Aarti has been doing in the last one-month in tarnishing his image and to his bank accounts are questionable.”
She also hinted at possible legal action against those spreading rumours, stating, “This is not my circus and I cannot be battling this. If these rumour mills continue, I may have to consider legal action for defamation.”
Earlier, in an interaction with Hindustan Times, Jayam Ravi addressed the rumours of him dating Kenishaa Francis, expressing his frustration, “How did these rumours about this person start? Why should anyone drag a third person unnecessarily into this issue? I plan to start a spiritual healing centre with Kenishaa and we are looking for some suitable location. My divorce has nothing to do with this. This reflects badly on me and it also reflects badly for others involved, like our families. Has anyone thought about that?”
On the professional front, Jayam Ravi has two films in the pipeline — M Rajesh’s rom-com titled Brother, which will also star Priyanka Mohan, and director Arjunan’s Genie.
