Keerthy Suresh reveals she had ‘nightmares’ about eloping with husband Antony, was in a long-distance relationship with him during college
Keerthy Suresh revealed that she started dating her now husband Antony when she was in 12th standard and he waited for her to complete her education and establish herself until she was ready for marriage.

(Photo: Keerthy Suresh/ Instagram)Keerthy Suresh, the acclaimed South Indian actress known for her impressive performances in films like Mahanati and Dasara, recently shared her heartfelt story of love and marriage to her long-time partner Antony Thattil. The couple exchanged vows on December 12, 2024, in an intimate and traditional Tamil Brahmin and Malayali Christian wedding ceremony held in Goa, marking the beginning of their new journey together.
For Keerthy, the moment was nothing short of surreal. “Literally it’s a dream… I can’t even say it was a dream because we’ve had nightmares of eloping. So I don’t know if I can even call it a dream. But my heart was full, and it was a very emotional moment for us because we always wanted this,” she shared in an interview with Galatta India, her eyes sparkling with happiness.

The couple’s journey began when Keerthy was just still in school, and Antony was working in Qatar. Despite the long distance and the challenges that came with it, their love endured. “It’s not like we started off very strong. We started dating when I was in my 12th (class) and he is seven years older than me. So, he was working and we had a long-distance relationship for a brief period. He used to work in Qatar, and after four-five years (of working there) he came back to India for good. He set up his own business in Kochi… A brief period in our relationship, like five-six years, was a long distance relationship,” she explained.

Throughout her journey, Antony has been Keerthy’s rock, supporting her every step of the way. “I was in college, and then I started my acting career. And he’s been very, very supportive through my entire journey. For every girl, her dad is her superhero. And if somebody else has to be a superhero after your dad it should always be your partner. I see a lot of my dad in him, be it his principles, the way he deals with people, how he holds our entire group together. Today I am very, very proud of the person he is,” she gushed.
Keerthy is grateful for Antony’s unwavering support and patience, especially when it came to their marriage plans. “If there are people out there thinking that this man is lucky to have her, trust me I am lucky to have him. I am very happy that this happened. It’s not easy for somebody to wait so many years. He has never ever asked me, ‘When do you want to get married?’ No, he has never been forceful with anything. It was all whenever I wanted it to happen,” she said, her voice filled with emotion.
On the work front, Keerthy’s latest, Baby John with Varun Dhawan, is currently playing in cinemas. She’ll next be seen in films like Revolver Rita and Kannivedi.
