Trade tracker website Sacnilk updated that by 10am Suriya-starrer Kanguva has already earned around 3.35 crore in India net on its first day for all languages.

According to a trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, Siva’s film is expected to collect Rs 25 crore in Tamil Nadu on the first day. He shared with IndiaTimes, "Given the extraordinary buzz, Kanguva is expected to gross Rs 25 crore on the opening day from Tamil Nadu. These estimates could improve if evening and night shows get excellent occupancy. It might go below if the word-of-mouth is negative."

Suriya's Kanguva had a strong start at the box office. Kanguva box office collection day 1 advance report says that it has already earned around Rs 17 crore (adding block tickets) and the number will only go up as the day progresses. Director Siva’s epic fantasy actioner Kanguva, starring Suriya, Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, has grossed Rs 7.39 crore in India as of 8 pm on Wednesday, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The Tamil 3D and 2D versions alone have generated Rs 4.28 crore from 2,18,270 tickets across 3,588 shows, and Rs 1.09 crore from 62,386 tickets across 1,434 shows, respectively.

Hours before the release of director Siva’s epic fantasy actioner Kanguva, starring Suriya, Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, filmmaker Venkat Prabhu too has joined the growing number of celebrities coming forward expressing their hopes for the movie to become a blockbuster. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Venkat shared a poster of the film and wrote, "Can’t wait for Kanguva to storm the screens tomorrow! Big shoutout to Suriya na, Gnanavelraja na, Siva saar and the entire Kanguva team for this massive venture! Proud to see Tamil cinema going global with a Pan-Indian release. Let’s make it a worldwide blockbuster!" Venkat Prabhu's most recent directorial venture was the "Thalapathy" Vijay-starrer The Greatest of All Time (2024).

Producer S Vinod Kumar of Mini Studio, known for bankrolling director Adhik Ravichandran's Vishal and SJ Suryah-starrer Mark Antony (2023) and Santhosh P Jayakumar's Poikkal Kudhirai (2022), featuring Prabhu Deva and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, took to X on Wednesday to wish Suriya, Siva and team best wishes for Kanguva. Sharing a poster of the movie, he too called it the "first Pan-Indian Tamil film."

The Tamil 3D and 2D versions alone have generated Rs 3.5 crore from 1,75,016 tickets across 3,506 shows, and Rs 90.77 lakh from 52,333 tickets across 1,358 shows, respectively.

The movie has grossed Rs 6.02 crore in India as of 5 pm on Wednesday, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The Tamil 3D and 2D versions alone have generated Rs 3.4 crore from 1,72,014 tickets across 3,346 shows, and Rs 90 lakh from 52,251 tickets across 1,277 shows, respectively.

Actor Sai Dharam Tej, nephew of Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi, on Wednesday expressed his deep wish that Kanguva emerges as a huge blockbuster. On X, Sai wrote, "Kanguva is releasing tomorrow. While the first show of director Siva’s epic fantasy actioner Kanguva, starring Suriya, Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, has been scheduled for 9 am in Tamil Nadu, the movie's FDFS will begin five hours earlier in states like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala, where shows will start as early as 4 am.
