Kamal Haasan announces new release date for Indian 2 and first song with new posters

Kamal took to his social media platforms to reveal the poster, which features him in an intense avatar, hinting at the formidable character he reprises from the 1996 movie Indian. The poster’s tagline, “The Legend Returns,” underscores the film’s theme of vigilante justice, continuing the story of Senapathy, the freedom fighter who takes on corruption.

Indian 2 has been in the works for several years, facing multiple delays due to various production challenges and the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the team has persevered, with director Shankar and Haasan promising a film that lives up to and surpasses the legacy of its predecessor. The film also stars an ensemble cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, and Priya Bhavani Shankar.

The latest announcement has been met with enthusiastic responses from fans and the film industry alike. The new release date ensures that the movie will be a major summer release, with expectations high for its box office performance and critical reception.

Other than Indian 2, Kamal Haasan also has Thug Life, which is already on floors. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film has Silamabarasan, Trisha, Abhirami, Nasser, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Ashok Selvan in important roles. AR Rahman is composing the music for the film.
