Jiiva’s car crashes into road divider, actor escapes with minor injuries
While the vehicle was significantly damaged, Tamil actor Jiiva and Supriya were fortunate to sustain only minor injuries.

Tamil actor Jiiva had a narrow escape when the actor’s car met with an accident in Kallakurichi on Wednesday. The mishap occurred while he was en route to Chennai, Sun News reported.
According to Times of India, the accident happened near Amiyakaram village in Chinnasalem. His wife Supriya was also in the car. A young man on a two-wheeler suddenly swerved onto the road, prompting Jiiva, who was behind the wheel at that time, to make a sharp turn to avoid a collision. This caused the car to hit the road divider and overturn. While the vehicle was significantly damaged, Jiiva and Supriya were fortunate to sustain only minor injuries. Jiiva confirmed to DT Next that they did not suffer any major injuries and were soon transported to Chennai in another vehicle.

Recently, Jiiva had sparked controversy with his comments on the Justice Hema Committee report, suggesting that the issues highlighted were specific to the Malayalam film industry and not present in Tamil cinema. Referring to it as a ‘Malayalam cinema issue,’ Jiiva also had a verbal altercation with a journalist, calling him ‘foolish’ for asking about “an inauspicious thing during an auspicious event.”
The son of veteran film producer RB Choudary, Jiiva began his film career as a child artist at the age of seven with his father’s production Perum Pulli (1991). Choudary later launched him as a lead actor in Aasai Aasaiyai (2003). Jiiva’s was last seen in director Mahi V Raghav’s political drama Yatra 2, where he played the role of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
