Indian 2 held its audio launch event in Chennai on Saturday. The film is set to release in July.

Indian 2 is finally getting ready for release. Makers of the much-awaited vigilante film, headlined by superstar Kamal Haasan and directed by Shankar, held a grand audio launch event of the movie in Chennai on Saturday. The mega event of Indian 2 saw several people of the industry in attendance, including actors Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, filmmakers Lokesh Kanagaraj and Nelson. Indian 2 audio launch happened in Chennai’s Nehru stadium.

Fans at the event started putting pictures and videos from the venue, including setting up of the stage and images of Nelson and Lokesh Kanagaraj being spotted together at the venue. Another video showed music composer Anirudh Ravichander arriving on stage to thundering applause.

Anirudh Ravichander has come on board for Indian 2, replacing AR Rahman, who had scored for the original 1996 film. The album was released online earlier in the day.

The film is jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies. The official handle of Lyca Productions took to X and shared glimpses from the event and red carpet.

Indian 2 sees Kamal Haasan reprise his role of Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante, who fights against corruption. The film also stars Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh among others.

After multiple delays, Indian 2 is finally scheduled to hit the big screens on July 12. Its third instalment, Indian 3, is aiming to release theatrically in 2025.

Acting on intelligence inputs, 19 C-60 commando units and two QATs launched a search operation, resulting in the death of four Maoists and recovery of weapons. The operation is ongoing to find other Maoists believed to be present in the area.
