Ajith and Shalini tied the knot on April 24, 2000. To celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary the two had a romantic dinner at a luxury hotel.

Ajith Kumar and Shalini choose to keep their personal lives private, but once the star is in public spaces, he gets clicked by his omnipresent fans. It happened yet again on April 24, the wedding anniversary of Ajith Kumar and former actress Shalini. The two were spotted together at a Chennai hotel where they had gone to celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary. The video and pictures of the two have gone viral on social media.

While Ajith avoids getting photographed during such private events, this time around, he posed for the pictures along with his wife. The actor looked stylish as always in a semi-casual suit and sported an uber-cool sunglasses. On the other hand, Shalini kept things simple and was seen in a white floral churidar. The couple also agreed to take selfies with the fans who surrounded them.

Ajith and Shalini acted together in the blockbuster film Amarkalam (1999) and fell in love during the shoot. After dating for a year, the two tied the knot in 2000. Shalini’s biggest hit of her career, Mani Ratnam’s Alaipaayuthey, was released a few days before her wedding. After entering the wedlock, the actress quit acting. Her last onscreen appearance was in Piriyadha Varam Vendum, which was released in 2001.

On the other hand, Amarkalam turned out to be the watershed moment in Ajith’s career, who became a ‘mass hero’ after the film. He had consistent hits like Citizen, Citizen, and Ennai Thaalata Varuvala and became one of the top heroes of Tamil cinema.

He will next be seen in Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, which has been in the making for about a year now. The film is expected to be released in 2025.
