In some earlier media interactions, actor Vishnu Vishal had opened up about the lack of support from his colleagues and senior artistes in the industry, even after the success of Ratsasan in 2018. During the pre-release event for his upcoming serial killer thriller Aaryan, Vishnu opened up about what made him complain about his colleagues in Tamil cinema.
The actor said, “I was talking about not being recognized in the industry. I am not happy with that. I have been working for one or two years each to get all my projects greenlit.”
Vishnu Vishal took the names of films like Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran, Gatta Kusthi, and FIR: Faizal Ibrahim Raiz, and how he went through so much struggle to get these projects off the ground. “In my film Gatta Kusthi, we had six producers turn us down at the last minute. For Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran, 4 producers changed, and for ‘FIR: Faizal Ibrahim Raiz’, we had 3 producers who backed out. 9 films that were committed to me post the success of Ratsasan were dropped.”

The Aaryan actor said he never deserved such issues, which is why he decided to turn producer for his own films. “I was just trying to say that I don’t deserve all this as a person. I have that pain and sadness within me. Even after giving hits like Gatta Kusthi and FIR, I had to wait three years for my next film from outside. That is why I started my own production house. Once I took over production, it just took me one year to release this movie and come back on screen,“ he said.
Vishnu Vishal was also quick to confirm that he had no issues with any particular actor but saw this as a common approach towards his work. “I want to add that I don’t have this complaint against any one person. This is my general feeling. Once my film releases and becomes a success, I have noticed that none of the actors whom I admire have called even once to wish me in person. Once the films become successful, they will call my director, but not speak with me at all. They will set up meetings with my directors for their next films, but I will not get any such calls. These are the kind of things that bother me.”
