Shaan collaborates with the band Superbia
The singer will perform at Hard Rock Cafe in Mumbai

In a career spanning over a decade, singer Shaan has for the first time collaborated with a band called Superbia. Formed in 2013, the band has three members — Shaan, composers Gourav Dasgupta and Roshan Balu.
The band will perform at the Hard Rock Cafe in Mumbai on November 7, will see Shaan performing alongside Gwen Athaide, a former Miss India Asia Pacific.
Shaan, who has earlier given solo performances on stage besides having sung several songs for Hindi as well as regional language cinema, was dubbing for one of Gourov Dasgupta’s tracks for an upcoming film. The three guys hit off instantly and many recording and jamming sessions later, decided to come together as part of a band. Now, they will be releasing their debut album, Satrangi that features Shaan alongside Athaide, Dasgupta and Balu. The album has seven tracks that capture seven different emotions and moods. “You will see Shaan in a completely different avatar,” says Balu. Besides, the band will also perform on some old melodies and popular songs from Shaan’s repertoire in the electro-rock format. “The genre can be broadly termed as darkwave with shades of electro goth, dubstep and virtuoso guitar.”
Talking about why he chose to be a part of the band, Shaan said, “The energy of a band cannot be compared to the experience when you are just singing as an individual. This togetherness was something that I had always missed and was keen to be a part of. I finally found the right bandmates in Gourov and Roshan, and together we have a sound that’s unique and special. I started out with Indipop. It has come a full circle and I am looking towards a fabulous journey ahead.”
Superbia also plans to take their act to various cities across the country. Satrangi will release under the music label Saregama India Ltd.
