The music launch of Mary Kom was a grand affair, with Priyanka Chopra taking centre stage to sing a lullaby from the film

The music launch of the Priyanka Chopra starrer, Mary Kom, was a melodious event that took off with a great performance by the actress, who was also the host along with director Omung Kumar. The event began with music composer Shashi playing the guitar and Chopra singing Chaoro, a hauntingly beautiful lullaby, which has been originally sung by her in the film as well. “It’s a beautiful song and moment in the film,” stated Chopra, as she took charge and enthralled the audience with her rendition, “Tujhe main dhuain doon kwabon ko sajane.”
Chopra also spoke about the song, Ziddi dil at the do. The song, composed by debutant music director duo Shashi – Shivamm, happens to be inspired by Olympic champion MC Mary Kom (on whom the film is based and was also present at the event) and Chopra’s never say die spirit. “Ziddi dil agar aap ki zindagi mein zid na ho, you will never be able to achieve anything. Like Mary, I also come from a small town and we would have never been standing in front of you, if we did not have this zid in our heart,” stated Chopra. The actress also confessed that her favourite song from the film is the patriotic number Salaam, apart from the soft romantic track, Sukoon Mila, which also happens to be Mary’s favourite. Presented by Zee Music, the album of Mary Kom can be downloaded on iTunes, while the hard copy is available across all retail stores.
