YouTube is a great medium to share videos online for entertainment, but today several film promotions are also done online. The teasers, trailers and songs are all put up on official channels of the banners for promoting their films through social media.
Now, after giving several blockbusters and breaking many box-office records, Yash Raj Films has crossed yet another milestone. According to the official YouTube channel of the banner (www.YouTube.com/YRF) has crossed over one billion views. The channel, which is currently home to 4,000 plus videos, is ranked numero uno in India, in the Film & Animation Category for maximum number of channel video views and channel subscribers.
Speaking on the feat, Anand Gurnani, Vice President (Digital), quoted, “YouTube is a dynamic platform and requires immense perseverance and data analysis to ensure we reach the right audience. We place a lot of focus on YouTube trends, video optimisation through tags, meta-data and annotations that go a long way in building the channel. YouTube has been one of the key channels of content dissemination for movie marketing and will continue to be for time to come.”
From the very beginning, the channel has broadcast a constant stream of new videos. The channel caters to the masses by uploading content that comprises musical hits, audio-video juke boxes, lyrical videos, interviews and interesting behind-the-scenes trivia. YRF YouTube presence is also marked by several sub-channels like YRF Movies, YRF Songs, YRF Trailers, YRF Dialogues, YRF Trivia and some regional channels that service the long tail of consumers and cumulatively add up to the numbers.
