Vijendra Singh, Arfi Lamba, Kiara Advani and Mohit Marwah shooting in Leh

It was the cloud movement in Leh that determined the shooting schedule of Fugly, according to director Kabir Sadanand

Shooting in Leh
Though the story of Fugly is set in the lanes of Delhi, it is Leh which represents the ideology of the four friends played by Mohit Marwah, Vijendra Singh, Arfi Lamba and Anshuman Jha, in the film.
Though excited at the prospect of shooting in the beautiful state of Jammu and Kashmir 14,000 feet above sea level the nine day schedule in Leh was not an easy one. It was not only battling with freezing temperatures, cloud bursts, low oxygen levels and land slides, the cast and crew had to depend on the cloud movement which played a major role in the shooting schedule of the film!

The cloud theory
Recalls director Kabir Sadanand. “The appearance of the sun depends on the cloud movement which in turn determined our shooting schedule for the day. In fact a Lama performs a ritual every morning wherein he lights a fire. If the smoke disperses, it means there will be a cloud movement and subsequently sunlight, but if the smoke is static, then it means it’s a cloudy day ahead,” revealed the director.
The most challenging day of the shoot was, when they were shooting next to a lake and had only about 40 minutes to capture the sunlight. “That was the day the entire team became one. My actors were all newcomers, but they got their act together and shot in record time. Ashvini Yardi, who is the producer ran helter-skelter to see that the set was ready on time and despite the fact that it started raining, the sequence got wrapped in time,” said Sadanand.
Fugly is produced by Akshay Kumar’s Grazing Goat Pictures Pvt. Ltd and Yardi and releases on May 16.

On the dance floor

A jazzy club number, Chaar bottle vodka, was picturised on Sunny Leone and Yo Yo Honey Singh for Ragini MMS 2

Location

Club Triology in hotel Sea Princess, Mumbai is buzzing with activity. A club number is being picturised on the sensuous Sunny Leone and the music man of the moment, Yo Yo Honey Singh who makes a special appearance in Ragini MMS 2. Several dancers are loitering around while one can spot Singh busy at the monitor capturing the dance number on his camera. He has conceived the dance steps himself and is confident that the track, Chaar bottle vodka will be an instant hit. “In Yaariyan my song had Sunny’s name in it, and now I am dancing with her,” said the rap singer.
Free style

Chaar bottle is a promotional song choreographed by Atul. It’s a freestyle dance and part of it was picturised at Mumbai’s Film City studios. “We were told that it is a dance number for a club sequence. I could not give choreographed movements because people don’t do such movements in clubs. Honey and I thought of some rap and freestyle movements and then picked out the best. There are no signature or hook movements, but since the lyrics go as. Chaar bottle vodka, Honey and Sunny flash their four fingers throughout the song,” said the choreographer.
Ragini MSS 2, a sequel to the hit Ragini MMS, is produced by Balaji ALT Entertainment and directed by Bhushan Patel. The horror thriller whose cast also includes Sandhya Mridul and Pravin Dabbas is slated to release on March 21.
