Every film has one cinematic attraction and in Daawat-E-Ishq, food is the most seductive and inviting part of the film. In some films colours and artificial elements are used to make food look more attractive on screen, but in the case of Daawat-E-Ishq the makers went in for organic and real food. Director Habib Faisal who is a stickler when it comes to props, wanted a perfect setting, especially since the actors had to eat the food. “I remember in one of the scenes we had to show Aditya’s (Roy Kapur) restaurant which is a very old and traditional place in Lucknow. We wanted to shoot in Aminabad, a small town in Lucknow, but it wasn't possible as the place was not very shooting friendly. Instead we created a huge set of his restaurant and the entire lane around in Mumbai’s Film City Studios,” explained Faisal. Creating Aminabad was quite challenging in itself. And then some other problems cropped up. Since it was winter and a tad cold according to the director when the piping hot kormas and curries would be brought out, the ghee in them would solidify and change the look of the food, making it look unappetising! So after every shot we had to bring in more fresh food and shoot quickly before it became solid. That kept everyone on their fee for every shot,” said Faisal.
