Junior masterchef gets his own show
Eat Manual on Zee Khana Khazana is hosted by 10-year-old Emanuel Chauhan, one of the finalists from last year’s Junior Masterchef
Tanaz Irani and Vikas Khanna with Emanuel Chauhan
Ten-year-old Emanuel Chauhan won many hearts last year with his wit and talent when he participated in the food talent-hunt show, Junior Masterchef. Now, the young chef has turned the host for Zee Khana Khazana’s Eat Manual that went on air mid-October.
The young kid, who is really excited to be a part of the show, says that in the last one-year after Masterchef got over and he got recognition, he has conducted many live workshops that were attended by young people who are interested in cooking. “Chef Vikas (Khanna) came on my show and told me that I’m his hero and also that I am the first kid to have his own cookery show,” said the 10-year-old, who will be experimenting with world cuisine in the one-hour show that he is co-hosting with television actor Tanaz Irani, who he addresses as “T ma’am”.
Lopamudra Mitra, creative head, Zee Khana Khazana, talking about the 12-episode weekly series, says that the idea is to inspire more kids and the younger generation to take up cooking. “Emanuel had visited the sets of our show, Bacha Party where we realised that he is too passionate about cooking and has a lot of potential as well. We deiced on the format of Eat Manual that was derived from Emanuel’s name only,” says Mitra as she adds that it is not an instructional show but an one-hour of fun programming which will see experimentation with cooking.
