Pathak Malhotra, was very excited about the project, and had spoken about Roshan working on his physique to look like a he-man of the 70s, a la Dharmendra, while the leading lady, Kareena Kapoor Khan would be retaining her natural physique. However, recently, there were talks of Kareena not doing the film, but the news that Roshan was opting out of the project too, came as a big surprise.
Speculations were rife about who will step into Roshan’s shoes, and one of the name that cropped up was that of Ranveer Singh. However, on trying to get a confirmation, he replied back stating, “I have not been approached for the film.”
In the meantime, a statement issued by Roshan said: “Karan Malhotra and I have decided to unite in the most ambitious way post Shuddhi. For now, I cannot allow a vision like Shuddhi to stagnate any further. I had the finest experience an actor can have working with Karan Malhotra in Agneepath and I’m sure both my dear Karans are going to go beyond with this one! Shuddhi remains a part of me in spirit and am sure it will be a landmark in our cinema. I wish them all the best!”
Meanwhile Karan Malhotra did not want to comment till he has something to announce.
