Hot ‘n’ cold

Miss Tanakpur Hazir Ho is set in summer, but shot in chilly November in Hapur and had the actors in a tizzy

Based on a real-life incident where an innocent man is dragged to an endless courtroom battle, Miss Tanakpur Hazir Ho is set in a small village and was shot in Hapur, UP.
Director Vinod Kapri (Editor-in-Chief of News Express TV), who makes his debut with the film, says that the film is set in the summers in Haryana, but was shot in chilly November and December in UP. “The cold weather became a matter of concern because when I would call for ‘action’, the villagers who were used as juniors took their time to remove their mufflers, jackets and caps. The assistant directors would constantly be on the job monitoring their looks. Even the actors, Om Puri, Annu Kapoor and Ravi Kishan would cling to their warm clothing till the end,” the director added with a laugh.
Every scene of the film was shot on real locations, and the looks of all the actors were inspired by real people Kapri had come across during his research. “Om Puri’s character, who plays a police inspector, was inspired by a cop I had met in Haryana. I noticed that he used

to colour his hair, and that’s how you will see Om Puri in the film,” said Kapri.
The cast of the light-hearted comedy also includes Sanjay Mishra, Hrishita Bhatt, Kamlesh Gill and Rahul Bagga. While the film is currently in post production, the date for its release is not yet fixed.
