Sonakshi Sinha on Ajay Devgn’s unwillingness when it came to shooting the dance number Keeda for Action Jackson

Matching steps with each other: Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha was extremely excited and thrilled about shooting the peppy dance track Keeda for Action Jackson. It was the first song that she was shooting in Europe in the beautiful city of Innsbruck, Austria. The unit converted one block of the street that had several by-lanes and quaint restaurants into a set where they picturised the dance number.
“You can say Keeda was my first international shoot because before that I have only visited Dubai. Besides being a catchy number, shooting it was also an experience because Ajay sir (Devgn) and I were dancing on the streets of Innsbruck,” said Sinha.
What has Sinha smiling is the way the song was shot. There were no rehearsals or prep, and the actress recalls that before they left for Austria, she would call the team everyday and inquire about the rehearsals, but was always told that Ajay sir would do it the next day. Ultimately, they landed in Austria without rehearsing!
“Everything was done on the sets. But I must mention that Prabhu sir (director and choreographer Prabhu Dheva) just takes it for granted that I will see a step and immediately pick it up. He gave me difficult steps to do, while Ajay sir was given cycle steps for the leg movement with some simple hands moves! Dancing is not Ajay sir’s forte and he is quite averse to it. So keeping his personality, limitations and comfort in mind, Prabhu sir gave him steps that he was comfortable with. And the song was seamlessly picturised.”
The best part, according to the actress was that although her steps were complicated it took the same time for both Devgn and her to master their individual steps.
“Ajay sir is a reluctant dancer. So, even if the steps are simple, it would take time to get him to do it, whilst I would take long because I had these difficult steps to master. Eventually, the time taken by both of us would be the same and we would be ready for the shot at the same time,” laughed the actress.
Action Jackson is produced by Gordhan Tanwani and Sunil Lulla and releases on December 5.
