Former beauty queen and actress Celina Jaitley has crooned for a Bollywood style human rights single for the United Nations (UN). Jaitley, who is the Goodwill Ambassador for Human Rights Free and Equal Campaign, has re-recorded legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar’s popular number from Baton Baton Mein titled, Uthe sabke kadam. Confirming the news, the actress said, “Yes. Doing something for a cause that I support gives me immense pleasure. Music is the best way to reach people across borders. I am a little nervous, since it is a track sung by Lata Mangeshkarji, but the experience will surely be worth it.” The song has been re-composed by Neeraj Shridhar and will aim at promoting the cause of Lesbian Gay Bi-sexual Transgender (LGBT) rights across the country, a cause that is very dear to Jaitley. A special music video has also been shot and Sa Re Ga Ma has acquired the rights of this song.
