In what seems to be an interesting pairing to look forward to Abhay Deol and Diana Penty will be starring together in a romcom titled Happy Bhaggjaayegi. The film will be directed by Mudassar Aziz who had earlier directed the Sushmita Sen starrer Dulha Mil Gaya. Aanand L Rai who is producing the film with Krishika Lulla of Eros under his banner Colour Yellow Pictures said that the script is in a true romcom space.
“The story was with Mudassar for a couple of years. He would regularly come on the sets of Raanjhanaa for meetings. I liked the story which was humourous and asked Mudassar to work on it. He was very happy because he wanted me to come on board as he felt he would be comfortable working with me. He waited and worked really hard on the script,” said Rai. Signing Deol for the movie was understandable as Rai had earlier worked with him in Raanjhanaa, but how did he zero in on Penty. “Her long absence after Cocktail in which she was appreciated made her an interesting choice. She’s a very focussed girl,” he added.
The pre-production of the film (reading sessions etc.) will start soon and the shooting will take off in a few months time.
