Paying a tribute to one of the finest dancers of Indian Cinema, Govinda, it was natural for the normally boisterous and energetic Ranveer Singh to feel nervous. Even before his act came up, Singh was spotted, shifting on his feet as he stood near the red cruiser bike, with which he made his entry on the stage. A self-confessed Govinda fan, Singh took great care while preparing for his act, and personally chose the songs that he would perform on.
The actor who had arrived way before the show began, was seen busy rehearsing his steps on stage. To get a feel of the whole act, he rehearsed in his costumes, till the time the show was about to begin.
Later, once the curtains were up, Singh preferred the confines of his vanity van from which one could hear loud music playing Govinda’s songs, even as he geared up for his act, munching on a bar of chikki to boost his energy.

Arriving way before time on the day of the event, Ranveer Singh made sure that he became familiar with the stage and rehearsed in his costume to get his act right, till the curtains went up.

Suddenly the ubiquitous black pant and shirt turned sexy after  Govinda danced to Meri pant bhi sexy  from Dulara. Ranveer Singh, who is also a fan of the actor, revived the charm of the nineties, as he performed on the energetic number, complete with a purple scarf round his neck.

Another song that followed was Aanan paanan from Hathkadi. The crazy jail number with its quirky lyrics had the audience entertained as Singh performed. Dressed in a qaidi’s uniform with the convict’s number displayed prominently, the actor went through the paces, following in his idol’s footsteps.

Even as the strains of Aa aa ee  from Raja Babu sounded, some Govinda fans stood up from the audience and matched steps with Singh. Dressed in a shiny blue kurta and the trademark gold chain worn by Govinda, Singh let his hair down as he performed on the foot-thumping number.
