Kantara Chapter 1 box office collection day 4: After a strong start, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. The film has cemented its status as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year over its first weekend. According to Sacnilk, it minted Rs 61.5 crore on Sunday, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 223.75 crore within just four days of release.
The Rishab Shetty-starrer began its box office journey with a bang, earning Rs 61.85 crore on its opening day. It saw a dip of 26 percent on Friday, collecting Rs 45.4 crore. This drop, however, was temporary as the film regained momentum on Saturday, earning Rs 55 crore — a 21 percent rise in collection. The film has recorded the biggest weekend of the year, collecting a whopping Rs 335 crore worldwide gross within 4 days of release.
On Sunday, the film recorded remarkable occupancy figures across languages — 90.59% in Kannada, 71.37% in Telugu, 38.90% in Hindi, 80.90% in Tamil, and 77.82% in Malayalam.
Kantara: Chapter 1 has emerged as the fourth highest-grossing Kannada film of all time and the second highest-grossing Kannada film of 2025, after Mahavatar Narsimha, which minted Rs 325.74 crore worldwide — a feat that Kantara Chapter 1 is likely to surpass soon.
The film has already outperformed several high-profile releases. It surpassed the total domestic collection of Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG, which minted Rs 183 crore in India within 11 days of release. Similarly, Rishab’s film overtook Aamir Khan’s hit Sitaare Zameen Par, whose India net collection stood at Rs 167.3 crore. Kantara also surpassed the Malayalam hit Lokah: Chapter 1, which recorded Rs 153.05 crore in India, and even exceeded KGF: Chapter 1’s India net collection of Rs 185.24 crore.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is written and directed by Rishab Shetty, who also plays the main lead. The film also stars Jayaram, Rukmini Vasanth, and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles.
