Iru Mugan: Vikram offers double the fun
Iru Mugan: Iru Mugan, Inkokkadu in Telugu, has Chiyaan Vikram in a double role. The film also stars Nithya Menen and Nayanthara as the leading ladies.
Iru Mugan: Vikram is the hero and he is also the villain. And it is as the bad guy that he impresses.
It is Onam and Vikram’s Iru Mugan will land at the box office amidst expected fan hysteria. What scales it all up even further is the fact that there are going to be two of him — Chiyaan Vikram is playing a double role in the film and he is both the hero and the villain.
The actor who is known for his different looks in practically all his films plays an intelligence officer named Akhilan and his arch nemesis, Love, who is psychotic and looks like a transgender but isn’t. With international espionage as the theme of the film, Nayanthara plays the bad Vikram’s love interest named Halena while Nithya Menen is a RAW agent Aarushi who assists the good Vikram in his mission.
Unlike every other movie that we watch, it is Love that we need to keep in step with in Iru Mugan. He is not a cliche or a stereotype. Instead, he is the ultimate villain who always comes out trumps. In fact, watch out for scenes and twists where the good guy finds it hard to keep up with him and that is the USP of the film. Vikram’s performance is also being appreciated as is the fast-paced film.

Directed by Anand Shankar, the film has Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Bala and Karunakaran in important roles. The cinematography is by RD Rajasekhar while Bhuvan Srinivasan has edited the film.
Iru Mugan has already delivered hummable music and its songs “Halena,” “Kannai Vittu” and “Face Off” are a rage. And watch out for a twist close to the interval!
