Shriya Saran’s first look in Gautamiputra Satakarni

Shirya Saran’s first look from her upcoming Telugu epic historical action film Goutamiputra Satakarni was revealed by the makers of the film on her birthday, September 11. The actress will be taking up the role as a royal princess, Vashisti Devi, in the movie.

Not just that, this movie is the 100th film for the veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna who is playing the title role in it. Shriya will be paring with Balakrishna as the female lead in the movie. It is also her second film in such combination with him. The film also features popular Bollywood actress Hema Malini playing as Satakarni’s mother in the movie.

Under National Award-winning filmmaker Krish’s direction, the movie is based on the life history of a warrior of the Satavahana empire in the second century CE, Gautamiputra Satakarni. Chiranthan Bhatt is the music composer and First Frame Entertainments is producing the film which has been slated for release during Sankranthi next year. The movie is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 70 crore. According to Telugu360, the satellite rights of Gauthamiputra Satakarni have been bought by MAA TV for a whopping Rs 9 crore, a record price in Balakrishna’s career so far.

Balakrishna, after recent titles like Legend, Lion and Simha, will be seen in a completely new look for this film. The movie is expected to be turning point in his acting career as his all time hit Legend movie made a collection of Rs 40 crore. With double the budget of his highest grosser, the movie is a much awaited treat for his fan-base and for himself too.
