Ranveer Singh’s controversial nude photo resurfaces as artwork for Sufjan Stevens’ latest album
A photo of Ranveer Singh from the controversial Paper Magazine cover shoot has reappeared, as it was featured on the cover of American singer and songwriter Sufjan Stevens' song "Goodbye Evergreen," from his latest album Javelin.

Actor Ranveer Singh has never failed to make heads turn with his fashion choices, both in attire and without. While his fearless approach to style is admired by his fans, it has also led to controversies, notably when his nude photos for Paper magazine’s cover gained widespread attention last July. Although many appreciated the artistic the photos for their artistic value, the Mumbai Police pressed charges against the actor for obscenity.
Meanwhile, one of these photos has resurfaced as a significant point of discussion, as it was featured on the cover of American singer and songwriter Sufjan Stevens’ song “Goodbye Evergreen,” from his latest album Javelin.

Though the entire image isn’t shown explicitly, Ranveer’s photo is one of a few that the artist has chosen as a backdrop for the lyrical video of the song. It also serves as the video’s thumbnail on YouTube, where the track’s title, presented in a pink splash font, is placed over Ranveer’s cutout.
Fans, however, swiftly recognised Ranveer and began to ponder why his image was included. “Why is Ranveer Singh here,” a few users enquired in the video’s comment section.

Ranveer’s photoshoot, which sparked significant controversy in India, was a homage to Burt Reynolds’ iconic 1972 shoot for Cosmopolitan magazine. Fans admired the aesthetic of the photos and commended Ranveer for his confidence. A fan expressed, “I love how he’s so confident in his sexuality,” while another one remarked, “The sexiest star of Bollywood right now.”
“It’s so easy for me to be physically naked, but in some of my performances, I’ve been d**n f**king naked. You can see my f**king soul. How naked is that? That’s being actually naked. I can be naked in front of a thousand people, I don’t give a sh*t. It’s just that they get uncomfortable,” the actor said during an interview with Paper Magazine back then.
After he was booked, the cyber police were also roped in by the local Chembur police to get details like the device from which the photos were uploaded, the accounts that were involved in sharing it and the location where the photoshoot took place.
Meanwhile, the actor informed the police that one of the photographs shared on social media, in which his private parts were allegedly visible, was morphed and that it did not belong to him. It was based on this photograph that the Mumbai Police had registered an FIR against him on charges of obscenity.

“This album is dedicated to the light of my life, my beloved partner and best friend Evans Richardson, who passed away in April.
