A video of Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan‘s son Shahzaman Fateh Ali Khan’s latest performance in the USA has gone viral on the internet. Netlzens are left stunned as they drew similarities between how much Shahzaman sounds like his grand uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
In the video that’s making rounds on Twitter, Shahzaman is seen performing and leaving the audience mesmerised as he sings Nusrat’s iconic song “Kinna Sohna Tenu Rab Ne Banaya”. Watch the video here:

Reacting to Shahzaman’s performance, music lovers took to Twitter and wrote words of appreciation. One person wrote, “Rahat FAteh ALi Khan’s son. OMG does he not sound like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan?,” whereas another person wrote, “He has a similar voice as Nusrat but both Nusrat and Rahat were much more polished qawwals by this age. Nusrat was truly the best!.”
Shahzaman is quite popular amongst Indians as well. Reportedly the young qawwal has performed at Anant Ambani’s 28th birthday bash in Dubai in April.

Shahzaman and his father Rahat often jam together and perform on stage together as well. He had once opened up about his father’s contribution in his musical journey. He had written on Instagram, “What a great dad he is! Lets me occupy his seat as he takes mine. Knowing that i still have to earn this seat but still how willingly he wants to see me on this seat. How blessed I am to have a father & an Ustad like my dad.”
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has sung some of the most iconic songs for Hindi films, including “Dulhe Ka Sehra” from Suniel Shetty, Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty among others. The Qawwali maestro has given some of the unforgettable numbers like The Dum Mast Qalander Mast, Jhule Jhule Laal. Nusrat’s nephew Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, until recently sang for Bollywood movies until Pakistani artists were banned from working in India in 2016.
Rahat’s most iconic Bollywood songs include “Jiya Dhadak Dhadak” from Kalyug, “Naina” from Omkara, “Main Jahaan Rahoon” from Namaste London, his last Bollywood song “Tere Bin” featured in Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan’s Simmba.
