A new Michael Jackson album titled ‘Xscape’, featuring eight new tracks from the king of pop’s archives will be released on May 13.

For ‘Xscape’ the Epic Records had teamed up with talented producers to create a new album, reported E!Online.

“The title of this album honours Michael’s album naming process. He always chose a song from the album to name his projects and, beginning with Thriller, used only one-word titles, each with an edgy quality to them. This is true of the new project,” read the statement posted on the Epic Records’ website.

For ‘Xscape’, executive producer and Epic Records CEO LA Reid had “teamed up top producers to ‘contemporize’ the songs while retaining Jackson’s essence and integrity, creating the best music you’ve never heard,” the post read further.

This is not the first studio album to come from the singer’s unheard recordings since his death in 2009. In 2010, an album titled ‘Michael’, released, which sold over 1 million copies.

“Michael was always on the cutting edge and was constantly reaching out to new producers, looking for new sounds. He was always relevant and current. These tracks, in many ways, capture that spirit. We thank LA Reid for his vision,” John McClain and John Branca, the longtime co-executors of Jackson’s estate said in a statement.
