King recalls working with ‘humble’ Nick Jonas on Maan Meri Jaan: ‘He handed over the phone to Priyanka Chopra’

King shared that it was always his dream to work with Nick Jonas and when he was presented with the opportunity, he immediately said yes.

Rapper King has amassed a big following in India but his most popular song, that has also gotten him international recognition, is his global version of his song ‘Maan Meri Jaan’, where he collaborated with Nick Jonas. In a recent interview, King said that he had always imagined that one day, he would get a call to collaborate with Nick and when he was presented with this opportunity, he immediately said yes.

“I got a call saying that they want to make a global version of Maan Meri Jaan. They asked, ‘How about Nick Jonas?’ I instantly said yes. Because back in 2016, when I used to go around on a scooty, I used to listen to Bacon a lot. Back then, I used to wonder what if I collaborate with him one day,” he told India Folk Project.

King said that they got the whole track in just two takes. Calling Nick Jonas a “humble” guy, King said that he spoke to Nick and Priyanka Chopra over a video call while they were still finalising the details. “I was having breakfast and I got a text from him for a Facetime call. He immediately called me. I spoke to him a little bit and then he handed over the phone to Priyanka also,” King recalled.

When the song released in March, King shared on social media, “TRUE STORY!! I’ll never forget this day! I’ve been a huge fan of Nick’s music since a decade now. When Bacon was released, I was not even doing music that time…but I started manifesting to work with Nick even before I started doing music officially.
