Country star Blake Shelton has revealed he wished he could have gone “into a coma” during his split from Miranda Lambert.

The 39-year-old country singer and his ex-wife ended their four-year marriage in 2015 and Blake, who subsequently started a relationship with Gwen Stefani, admits he struggled to cope with the heartbreak of his marriage collapsing, reported People magazine.

“This time last year, there was no light at the end of the tunnel for me personally. There was a point where I thought I didn’t even want to exist anymore,” he said.

Blake underlined the extent of his emotional turmoil by revealing he spoke to people about going into a year-long coma.

“I told people I wished I could go into a coma and wake up a year from now.”
