Kristin Cabot, who used to be the head of HR at the tech company Astronomer, has filed for divorce from her husband, Andrew Cabot, according to a report from the NY Post. Cabot is believed to have filed the papers on August 13 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, which happened less than a month after she was caught cheating on a Coldplay concert “kiss cam” cuddling with her boss, Andy Byron. The video went viral on social media and both of them had to resign from their position. Both Cabot and Byron were married to different people at the time.

Kristin Cabot files for divorce post Coldplay scandal

On July 16, during a Coldplay concert, the stadium camera zoomed in on Kristin and Andy Byron, who at first glance looked like a cuddly couple in love, enjoying their musical experience. However, the smile instantly faded once they realised they were on the big jumbotron, and both tried ducking out of the frame. The awkward reaction made Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin, joke to the crowd that the pair might be “having an affair or just very shy.”

At the time of the kiss cam incident, Kristin was still married to Andrew Cabot, CEO of Privateer Rum. This marks Andrew’s third divorce. He was previously married to Julia Cabot, a yoga teacher, for four years before they split in 2018. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Julia said she reached out to Andrew after the scandal, and he told her, “Her life is nothing to do with me,” adding that they were separating. She went on, “He’s saying it has nothing to do with him, even though they were married and shared a house. But then, the only thing he cares about is money.”

Julia admitted she wasn’t shocked by the separation, saying she never saw either Andrew or Kristin as “husband or wife material,” adding Kristin had already been spotted without her wedding ring in July. She added that people flooded her with messages saying “karma” after the scandal, since many felt Andrew had “the cheating scandal coming.” Julia continued,  “Personally, I don’t think he’s affected by what happened at all. I don’t think his feelings are hurt. He’s probably embarrassed, if anything.”

Property records showed that Kristin and Andrew shared a $2.2 million house in Rye, New Hampshire. The couple reportedly purchased this property earlier this year. The house is a two-story, four-bedroom home near the Atlantic coast. For Cabot, this was her second marriage. She was previously married to  Kenneth Thornby, and their divorce was finalised in 2022.

Following the kiss-cam scandal, some sources claimed that Andrew’s family tried to play down the scandal by saying Kristin and Andrew were already having marriage problems for months. However, those close to the situation pointed out how the couple had just been saying they were very much in love only weeks before the concert. Andrew wasn’t even in the U.S. during the kiss cam night, he was on a business trip in Japan.
