Rekhachithram trailer: Featuring Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan in the lead roles, Rekhachithram promises to be a theatrical experience you won’t want to miss.

Rekhachithram trailer: After a remarkable 2024, during which he took on diverse roles and earned widespread acclaim for his performances, actor Asif Ali is poised to make a grand entry into 2025 with yet another investigative thriller. The trailer for his upcoming movie Rekhachithram (Sketch) is here, teasing a high-stakes, edge-of-the-seat cinematic experience. Featuring Anaswara Rajan also in a significant role, Rekhachithram promises to be a theatrical spectacle you won’t want to miss.
The 120-second trailer opens with an eagle-eye shot of a forest, where a man is seen walking through the middle of the wilderness. As the camera zooms closer, it becomes evident that he is an elderly person with age-related difficulty in walking. However, a closer look reveals his left hand soaked in blood, followed by a chilling shot of his lifeless body lying beneath a tree. Enter Asif Ali as the investigating officer. Although his character is portrayed as a mid-level police officer stationed at Malakkappara, the trailer highlights his relentless determination, showing him willing to wade through muck and grime to uncover the truth. As it unfolds, the promo video hints at a tangled narrative spanning two timelines — one set in the past and the other in the present.
Once Anaswara Rajan’s character is introduced, the trailer hits full throttle, amplifying the mystery surrounding her, particularly since, as the narrative teases, “she was a good actor in real life too. “While the trailer reveals little about her character, it does show that she aspired to become an actor. Yet, those who knew her as well have one lingering question even now: “Who is she?”
“Wherever she’s been, only corpses are left behind,” Asif’s character says, setting the tone for the movie’s mystery-filled atmosphere. Interestingly, this marks Asif Ali’s fifth role as a cop, following his acclaimed performances in Ithu Thaanda Police (2016), Kuttavum Shikshayum (2022), Kooman (2022) and Thalavan (2024).

Produced by Venu Kunnappilly, the story has been penned by Ramu Sunil, with the script co-written by him and John Manthrickal. The film boasts an impressive technical crew: Appu Prabhakar as the Director of Photography (DOP), Shameer Muhammad as the editor, Mujeeb Majeed as the music composer and Shaji Naduvil as the production designer.
While Asif Ali was last seen in the critically and commercially acclaimed mystery drama Kishkindha Kandam, Anaswara Rajan’s previous appearance was in Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. Rekhachithram is set to release in theatres on January 9.
