Legendary Malayalam actor Madhu, who recently turned 90, was felicitated by leading stars, singers, directors, and producers in an event titled Madhu Mozhi. During the event, a clip of Rajinikanth talking about Madhu was screened. The Tamil superstar called Madhu a father-like figure to him.

Rajinikanth and Madhu have worked together in the 1991 Tamil film Dharmadurai, in which the Malayalam actor played the superstar’s father. Speaking about the same, Rajinikanth said, “I got an opportunity to work with Madhu sir in the picture called Dharmadurai. He played my father. It was a beautiful experience working with him. He was a soft-spoken, kind, and gentle human being. When I acted with him, it didn’t feel like I was acting as his son, but he felt like my father. He gave a fatherly love and affection. Like most senior artistes, he was disciplined and the way he co-operated with the directors was amazing. A great soul.”

Mohanlal, Indrajith, Biju Menon, KS Chitra, Siddique, Gayathri, and Krishnaprabha were among the stars who were part of Madhu Mozhi.

Madhu has been acting for the past six decades, a feat achieved by very few people in India. He has acted in over 500 films in Malayalam and other Indian languages. The actor has also directed and produced numerous films in his career. Recipient of the Padma Shri, National Award, and multiple Kerala State Awards, Madhu has a career that has no parallels.

He is currently living a retired life with his daughter Uma.
