Otta first look teaser: Resul Pookutty promises an emotional roller-coaster about runaway children
Resul Pookutty is making his debut as director with Otta, which is based on S Hariharan book's Runaway Children.

Academy Award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty, who has worked with the who’s who of the Indian film industry, is turning director with the upcoming Malayalam film Otta. The teaser of the movie was unveiled on Tuesday, which gives a peek into the emotional drama about two guys who run away from their respective homes.
The teaser depicts the sorry state of the two guys, who leave their house due to a lack of proper love and affection from their parents. Set in both Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the film stars actors from both states including Asif Ali, Arjun Ashokan, Sathyaraj, Rohini, Indrajith Sukumaran, Indrans, Adil Hussain, Divya Datta, and Jaffar Idukki. The movie also features Pookutty’s brother Baiju Pookutty and actor Jalaja’s daughter Devi Nair.
Based on S Hariharan’s book titled Runaway Children, Otta promises to be an emotional roller-coaster with a lot at stake for the protagonists. The story is inspired by Hariharan’s life, and the writer has also co-produced the film with Resool Pookutty. The book became a sensation not just in India, but across borders as well.
Otta has music by M Jayachandran and lyrics penned by Rafeeq Ahamed. On the other hand, Arun Varam will handle the camera and Zian Sreekanth will take care of the cuts.
Meanwhile, Pookutty is working on the sound design of films like Puspa The Rule, Aadujjevitham, and Vadakkan.
