Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil’s diagnosis with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has been a topic of discussion in recent times. His wife, actor Nazriya Nazim, has now spoken about how the diagnosis has impacted their lives.
In an interview with Manorama Online, Nazriya revealed that despite Fahadh’s ADHD diagnosis, their lives have remained largely unchanged. “Fahadh has ADHD, but I began living with Shanu (Fahadh) before we knew about this condition. His personality traits were something I had been dealing with for a long time, and they became a part of our life,” she shared.
Nazriya added that knowing about Fahadh’s condition has perhaps made her more patient, but otherwise, their life remains the same. “Now that we know about the condition, I may have become a little more patient, but other than that, nothing in our life has changed,” she said.
Fahadh was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 41. During a conversation at the Peace Valley Children’s Village in Kothamangalam, he mentioned that had the condition been detected earlier in his life, treatment might have made a difference.
He recalled asking a doctor about the possibility of curing ADHD, to which the doctor replied that it is easily curable if diagnosed during childhood. Fahadh then asked if it could be cured if diagnosed at 41, to which he received a more nuanced response. “He told me it is easily curable if it is diagnosed during childhood. I asked him if it can be cured if diagnosed at 41. I am clinically diagnosed with ADHD. Even if it’s not that big, I too have some traits of the disorder,” the actor had said.
Nazriya and Fahadh’s journey together began on the sets of their film Bangalore Days in 2013. They started dating and, after a year-long courtship, got engaged on January 20, 2014. The couple tied the knot on August 21, 2014, in Thiruvananthapuram.
