Lokah vs Hridayapoorvam

Lokah, backed by Dulquer Salmaan as producer, is bravely competing in theatres with superstar Mohanlal’s much-anticipated film Hridayapoorvam. Despite the hype around the latter, it has struggled to perform at the box office and consistently lagged behind Lokah. The film earned Rs 1.05 crore on Monday, taking its total collection over the last five days to Rs 13.51 crore — less than half of Lokah’s Rs 31.05 crore.

About Lokah

The film revolves around the story of a mysterious woman named Chandra (Kalyani Priyadarshan), who possesses supernatural powers. When she is summoned to Bangalore, a boy next door falls in love with her. The narrative also incorporates elements of Indian folklore, which are presented in a modern storytelling format.

The film has received glowing reviews from critics. SCREEN’s Anandu Suresh gave the film 4 stars and wrote, “I believe Lokah is one of the finest superhero films India has ever produced. What makes it far better than other massive-budget fantasy spectacles is that its magnificence extends beyond visual brilliance to include impeccable writing, offering an experience like never before.”
