Big B sequel first look: Mammootty is back as the iconic Bilal

One of Mammooty’s most celebrated movies Big B is now getting a sequel. Helmed by Amal Neerad, the sequel is titled Bilal and will see Mammootty play the eponymous lead.

Mammootty is a name which will generate interest no matter what he decides to do. But when the Mollywood superstar is all ready to bring one of his iconic characters again on screen, it is natural that the excitement hits the roof. The iconic Malayalam film Big B is getting a sequel and Mammootty is bringing the much-liked Bilal back onto the screen. Revealing the news, Mammootty’s son Dulquer Salmaan tweeted the first look poster from the project. A severe close up of an intense-looking Mammootty, the grim poster has the social media circles on fire.

“He’s coming back !!! #Bilal #BigB #part2 @mammukka #amalneerad ! Yassssssssss !!! #fanboy 😁(sic),” Dulquer tweeted.

The sequel will see Mammootty join hands again with director Amal Neerad, who had directed Big B as well. The director also shared a Facebook post to announce that the project will come very soon. Big B was said to be inspired by the Hollywood movie Four Brothers, which starred Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, André Benjamin and Garrett Hedlund. While the film was a box office success, it later reached cult status when the DVD of the film was released. Big B saw Mammootty essay Bilal John Kurishinkal, one of the most appreciated characters in his career. Bilal is said to hit the screens next year and will be bankrolled by Amal Neerad’s production house.

Currently, Mammootty is awaiting the release of Streetlights which is set to hit the big screen on January 26. The Mollywood superstar is also part of Santosh Sivan directorial Kunjali Marakkar IV, the first look of which was released recently. He was last seen in Pulikaran Staraa which received a tepid response at the box office.
