After Jungkook, Korean actor Nana faces home invasion; intruder injured after physical altercation

South Korean actor-singer Nana found herself in quite a worrisome situation recently when she and her mother faced a home invasion. Nana, formerly a part of the girl group After School, was forced to confront a robber who found his way into her house. The intruder was armed and demanded money and valuables from them. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the 34-year-old, along with her mother, were able to fight against the intruder. So much so that the intruder is now in the hospital getting treated for their injuries,

According to a report by the Guri police station, reported by The Chosun, the man was in his 30s and had gained entrance into the singer’s residence in Acheon-dong, Guri-si, Gyeonggi Province. This occurred during the early hours of the morning, but both inhabitants of the house caught him in the act. What followed was a physical altercation, and Nana, along with her mother, were able to disarm and subdue the robber. They then called the police, and the arrest was made around 6 am.

The police are still investigating if there were any ulterior motives behind the robbery. Due to the injuries sustained during the altercation, the robber was taken to the hospital for treatment. This is another case where a celebrity in Korea has been the victim of a home invasion, and it highlights the need for better policing.

Just a few months back, boy-band BTS’ Jungkook had to deal with a fan who tried to gain entry into his home via the garage. Using the automated gate system, Jungkook had locked the intruder in the garage itself until police arrived. After the fan’s arrest, the singer put out a warning for everyone during his live stream and said, “I’m really grateful for the support, but that’s not how it’s done. If you come looking, I’ll lock you up. Since everything is recorded, evidence will be secured, and you’ll just be taken away. If you step into our house’s parking lot, you won’t get out.”

While BTS started their journey towards fame in 2013, Nana has been in the public eye since 2009. After gaining popularity as a member of bands like After School, Orange Caramel and A.S. Red, she started her career as an actor in 2014. She has since then been recognised for her roles in series such as The Good Wife (2016) and Into the Ring (2020).
