Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is joining the cast of Spider-Man 4

While her exact role is still under wraps, Stranger Things actor Sadie Sink can prove to be valuable edition to the Spider-Man franchise.

Spider-Man 4 castSadie Sink is coming to the MCU.

Marvel Studios is welcoming yet another star to the MCU dance. Sadie Sink, who played the iconic character of Max Mayfield in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, is joining the cast of Spider-Man 4.

While there has been a lot of speculation regarding the role Sink is going to play, we all know Marvel is particularly good at keeping their cards close to the chest. Many fans believe that Jean Grey is the most natural choice for Sink, as it will help connect the world of the MCU to X-Men. Other characters finding mention in the rumour mill include Starfire and Black Cat.

The events of Spider-Man: No Way Home opened up the field for new characters to be infused into the narrative. In order to save the timeline and the world, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) had Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) erase his memory from everyone’s mind. This included his friends and MJ (Zendaya), who now have no idea who Peter Parker is.

This particular step in the narrative can help the writers naturally introduce new characters, while already existing core characters can take a back seat without the process feeling forced or hasty. Without his ‘man in the chair’ Ned (Jacob Batalon) and his cynical girlfriend MJ, Peter Parker will need to find new accomplices to get in trouble with.

Tom Holland is currently shooting Christopher Nolan’s ensemble drama Odyssey and is expected to begin filming for Spider-Man 4 next.
