Materialists locks OTT release date: When and where to watch Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal starrer
After a $50M global run, Materialists starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal is heading to digital platforms this July.

Materialists, starring Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Evans, has finally locked in its digital release date. The romantic comedy, which hit theatres on June 13, grossed over $50 million worldwide and is now headed for on-demand streaming. The film follows a young matchmaker from New York City torn between her imperfectly perfect ex and a picture-perfect new match. Critics gave it a lukewarm response, and fans were quite divided on Celine Song’s take on modern love.
Materialists OTT release date
Starting Tuesday, July 22, the Celine Song directorial will be available for on-demand purchase, A24 Films confirmed to USA Today on Friday. The film is still in its theatrical run and will continue to play in cinemas alongside the digital release.
Where to watch Materialists on OTT?
Globally, Materialists will start streaming on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Google TV/YouTube Movies. Apart from that, it will also be made available on Fandango at Home and local cable providers in the US.
Materialists lifetime box office collection
After the box office failure of Madame Web, Dakota’s Materialists had fans hoping for a comeback, and the movie, by all means, exceeded expectations during its box office run. Made on a budget of $20 million, not only did it recover the entire amount, but it also had an opening weekend of $12 million domestically, becoming A24’s third-biggest opener of all time, behind only Civil War and Hereditary. On the global front, it pulled in $3.5 million, with a cumulative worldwide haul of $15.5 million. Totalling everything, Materialists made $50 million globally (International: $14,411,692 (28.8%), Domestic: $35,645,793) and earned a Best Picture nod at the Oscars. Apart from the lead actors, the movie also stars Zoë Winters as Sophie, Marin Ireland as Violet, Dasha Nekrasova as Daisy, Louisa Jacobson as Charlotte, Eddie Cahill as Robert, Joseph Lee as Trevor, and John Magaro as Mark P.
On the work front, Dakota will next be seen in Verity, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. The movie also stars Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett in key roles. From Hoover’s trilogy, It Ends With Us, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, rolled out last year. Verity follows next, with Reminders of Him lined up after that. According to a few reports, another book of hers, Regretting You, is also being adapted. Verity is a psychological romance thriller, where Dakota plays Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling young writer. It’s being directed by Michael Showalter. Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal recently starred in Eddington, which dropped on July 18. His Fantastic Four: First Steps is due for a July 24 release.
