Actor Chris Hemsworth has insisted that there was no awkwardness when he auditioned for “Thor” after his brother got turned down.

The 32-year-old Australian actor famously began playing the hammer-wielding superhero in the 2011 film, reported Digital Spy.

When asked on “The Graham Norton Show” if it was difficult to go for “Thor”, Chris said: “It was fine. He actually helped me go back in for the audition. It was a team effort.”

Speaking about the role, he added: “It changed my life. It got me a job and I was able to pay the rent, which was nice and it opened up every opportunity in my career.”

When asked if he would ever star in a movie with brother Liam, he said: “I think if the right thing came up we would, but you could only do it once otherwise it becomes very Brady Bunch!”

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the actor paid off his parents’ debts when his career took off.
