Veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey regrets leaving his first wife in his diary entry

A Facebook page posted a diary entry by veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey in which he telltales about how his first marriage fell apart, and how he came to regret it later.

A Facebook page by the name of ‘The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari’ has posted a diary entry by veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey in which he telltales about how his first marriage fell apart, and how he came to regret it later.

The actor, famous for his roles in movies like ‘Henna’, ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’, ‘Dil’, and ‘Shatranj Ke Khiladi’ among others, parted ways with his first wife Mehrunima (Madhur Jaffery) in 1965 and later married Jennifer in 1980.

Mehrunima, after separation from Saeed Jaffery, changed her name to Madhur Jaffrey. She is now known to the natives as the author of Indian cook books, as she has written more than two dozen of them.

Often called ‘The Julia Child of Indian Cookery’, Madhur started her career as an actress in US and then moved to the world of food. She has hosted cooking shows and helped launch the renowned New York Indian restaurant ‘Daawat’.

Madhur’s newest book ‘Vegetarian India: A Journey Through the Best of Indian Home Cooking’ was recently released.
