SATC stars sign 2.5 million gagging contract

The leading ladies of the sequel to 'Sex And The City' have been forced to sign a confidentiality agreement.

The leading ladies of the much anticipated sequel to ‘Sex And The City’ have been forced to sign a confidentiality agreement, which makes them liable to pay USD 2.5 million if they are proven to have leaked a story about the movie.

It is Sarah Jessica Parker, who is the co-producer of the film as well as its star who ordered the entire cast and crew to sign the agreement, reported Daily Mail online.

With the nearing release of the movie, the Internet is awash with rumours surrounding the plot,be it reports of maneater Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall, tying the knot or Carrie Bradshaw having a baby.

Reports suggest that the gag order was put in place after Cattrall was photographed holding a script, with some of the dialogue visible.

“The reason for the anxiety is that SJP seems to be convinced that the only way the sequel will do well is if people don’t know what is going to happen to the ‘girls’. They are all very keen to strike gold again, especially SJP,after her last romantic comedy movie bombed at the box office,” said a source in the studio.

The first movie took USD 400 million two years ago, though it was critically panned as nothing much more than three TV episodes stuck together.

The film about four girlfriends living in New York will release on May 27 in US and Europe.
