Rihanna frustrates fans with late show start

The singer took time out after show to thank crowd for their understanding.

R&B star Rihanna has apologised to fans after arriving onstage almost two hours late for her show in Belfast,Northern Ireland.

The 23-year-old singer kicked off a string of three shows in the city but the audience at the Odyssey Arena were left waiting for their idol,reported Contactmusic.

Several fans took to their Twitter.com page to vent their frustration at Rihanna’s delayed entrance,with one claiming she was an hour and 45 minutes late taking to the stage.

The ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker eventually made her grand arrival,and she took time out after the show to thank the crowd for their understanding.

In a post on the microblogging site,she writes,Belfast sorry for being so late tonight! Big Show! First Night! Things don’t always run smoothly or as planned,but I dearly appreciate your patience.
