Radcliffe wants to be liberated from Harry Potter
Daniel Radcliffe is looking forward to the end of the 'Harry Potter' episode of his life.
Teen Hollywood star Daniel Radcliffe is looking forward to the end of the ‘Harry Potter’ episode of his life,so that he can accept other movie roles.
The 19-year-old has been playing the character of the boy wizard since he was 11 and has been turning down other films so that he could concentrate on this series of fantasy films.
But now that the film franchise is about to end with Radcliffe wrapping up the last one in the series ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ next year, the young actor is looking forward to taking up new and different characters.
“We’re getting to the finish line. It’s going to be very strange. At the moment, whenever someone calls up with a script for a really great part, and they say they’re shooting in April, and I have to say I’m not available. To not have to do that anymore will be quite liberating,” Radcliffe told USA Today.
Nevertheless, the actor does not regret devoting the whole of his adolescence to one film character, since he has garnered enough money to spend the rest of his life in comfort.
“I never have to work again unless I want to do it. Once you’re in the position where you can be very, very choosy as an actor, you have a duty to be very, very selective about what you do. Money is not what motivates me. It’s never been a driving factor in my life or in the lives of anyone around me growing up. It’s not even an issue,” said Radcliffe.
